Junior League of Toledo members were trained as teacher’s aides to help a special classroom unit designed to meet the educational needs of emotionally handicapped children in the Lucas County School System. A specially trained teacher, school psychologist, and psychiatric social worker all made up the ESAP team. The group also developed an inservice training program for elementary teachers for early identification of students in need.
